The International Mycological Association, together with the Dutch Mycological Society and in collaboration with the Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute, are pleased to invite you to attend the 12th International Mycological Congress (IMC12), which is going to take place on 11-15 August 2024 in Maastricht, Netherlands.

The main aims of the International Mycological Congress are to engage the youth, facilitate face-to-face meetings, and to organize hands-on workshops in mycology.

Van het klassieke zwart-wit beeld van de stad, tot grote, kleurige wandkleden en van uiterst gestileerd tot buitengewoon gedetailleerd: de leden van de Utrechtse Stadsknippers – Miguel Castro, Carin van Dongen, Jet van Dam, Sabeth Elberse, Janneke Goedhart, Maja Houtman, Monique van Ruyven, Pooja Verma, Paula Versnick en Sandra Westgeest – tonen in de expositie “Tekenen met de schaar” in het stadhuis hun diverse werk.

De Nederlandse Vereniging voor Papierknipkunst vierde vorig jaar haar veertigjarig jubileum en bestaat uit een levendige gemeenschap van mensen die de papierknip en -snijkunst samen uitvoeren, erover leren en delen. Zij organiseert tentoonstellingen samen met musea en galerieën en ondersteunt haar papierkunstenaars op allerlei manieren. Een voornaam doel is zoveel mogelijk mensen kennis te laten maken met het papierknippen om zo dit oude ambacht levend te houden en te laten evolueren.

Papierknippen heeft al meer dan 400 jaar een plek in Nederland en daarom is dit ambacht opgenomen in de Inventaris Immaterieel Erfgoed Nederland.

De expositie is te zien van 2 juli tot en met 29 augustus 2024.

The 32nd International Jewellery Competition EMPATHY.
More than 500 works by 295 artists from a record number of 45 countries were submitted for this year’s Competition.
My entrance is a collier as worn by the “Schuttersgilden” in the 17th century in the Netherlands. I sewed on uncountless tears for what is happening in the world right now. The dove holds a broken rifle-pin, which stands for a call for non-violance.
