In conjunction with its 2019 Biennial Conference the National Basketry Organization organizes Basketry Now : 10th Anniversary Exhibition. Juror Heather Lineberry made her selections from 230 artworks submitted by 97 artists. Of the many exceptional pieces entered, she selected 84 works. Two of Maja Houtman’s artworks have been accepted into the exhibition: Petit tours and 88.992.
The NBO biennial exhibitions have become an important record of artistic work within traditional and contemporary basketry. They are unique in their focus on basketry and in their inclusion of the full range of work being executed by well-known and emerging artists. NBO encourages both established and emerging artists to submit work for consideration for this prestigious exhibition.
