The Artichoke is saved

In 2014 Co:operation Garnish called jewellery makers to join two different craft disciplines and design a new, special piece of jewelry. The Dutch artist Peter Hoogeboom invited Maja Houtman to make a work together. He makes ceramic jewelry, while contemporary filigree is her specialty. The collaboration resulted in a stunning brooch, titled Artichoke.
The brooch was selected for the exhibition of Co:operation Garnish and for over a year the brooch traveled through the United States, being on display in several art galleries.
After this succesfull tour the brooch is donated to the Stedelijk Museum ‘s Hertogenbosch; a museum for contemporary art & design, with both a large collection porcelain and jewellery.
